How long are the appointments? -- Generally 1 hour for a regular retirement appointment. For medical retirements there is one appointment for 1 hour and a second appointment that is 2 hours.
Do I need to bring all of my forms? -- Yes, gather as much information as possible to ensure the most accurate calculation. If you are unable to find a form we will do our best to work around it.
May I bring my spouse with me to my appointment? -- Yes, it is definitely best to bring your spouse. There is a vast amount of information that we will cover, so it is helpful to have someone there with you.
What if I decide not to retire immediately? -- That is perfectly okay. We can keep your information on file. When you do decide you are ready give us a call and schedule an appointment, complete the forms in a short 15 minute appointment so you can turn them in a timely manner.
I came and saw you a few years ago for a calculation, my pay and other things have changed and I am curious what I would make in retirement now. Can you recalculate my projected retirement now with the new information? -- Yes, I can recalculate your information and give you an updated retirement projection with a fee of $50.00 payable with cash or major credit cards.
Can you calculate my sick leave balances? -- Yes, I can tell you what left over sick leave you will have to use before retirement.
Can you calculate CSRS offset? -- Yes, that is a regular calculation we help with.
Can you provide information on military buyback? -- Yes, I will provide the forms and the information for you to complete the buy back process.
How soon before retirement should I have you calculate my retirement? -- 1 year to 6 months is an ideal time frame. However, the sooner the better.
If you I live out of state or will be out of town how do I handle my appointment needs? -- If you live out of state or will be out of town we will be in contact through a phone appointment, you will mail all of the required documents through certified mail and we can continue the retirement process.
